Our Staff
GIFT currently has three part-time staff members to assist you.
Rev. Jim Lucas, Chaplain
Jim has served the LGBT community since 1992, providing pastoral care and counseling, leading support programs, and organzing life enrichment events for LGBT people and their families and friends. Jim also speaks frequently in college classes and promotes the full inclusion of LGBT people in West Michigan churches and other community venues.Jim is a graduate of both Calvin College (Bachelor of Arts) and Calvin Seminary (Master of Divinity) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jim continued his education with four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and since 2008 he has been a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.
In 2001 Jim received the Triangle Foundation’s 2001 Catalyst for Change Award for outstanding service to the LGBT community in West Michigan. Jim also serves as a chaplain for Spectrum Health.
Stephanie Hill, Administrative Assistant
In August 2011, Stephanie began working for GIFT. She has been involved in the LGBT community since 2007. Stephanie is also studying Information Security and Intelligence through Ferris State University. While bringing her own knowledge to the team, Stephanie loves to learn more about people and help those in need. GIFT is a way for her to reach out to the community and keep active in the LGBT community.
