GIFT currently has three part-time staff members to assist you.
Stephanie Hill, Administrative Assistant
In August 2011 Stephanie began working for GIFT.
Rev. Jim Lucas, Chaplain
Jim has served the LGBT community since 1992, providing pastoral care and counseling, leading support programs, and organzing life enrichment events for LGBT people and their families and friends. Jim also speaks frequently in college classes and promotes the full inclusion of LGBT people in West Michigan churches and other community venues.Jim is a graduate of both Calvin College (Bachelor of Arts) and Calvin Seminary (Master of Divinity) in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jim continued his education with four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), and since 2008 he has been a Board Certified Chaplain with the Association of Professional Chaplains.
In 2001 Jim received the Triangle Foundation’s 2001 Catalyst for Change Award for outstanding service to the LGBT community in West Michigan. Jim also serves as a chaplain for Spectrum Health.
Theresa D. McClellan, Faith Advocacy Coordinator
In January 2010 Theresa began her work as GIFT’s first Faith Advocacy Coordinator. She is leading GIFT in preparing for our “Gay Christian? Yes!” Campaign, to be launched in 2012. In order to do so, she developing collaborative relationships with churches, religious leaders, and other organizations and individuals in West Michigan.
Theresa graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism, and she worked as an award-winning journalist for the Grand Rapids Press from 1980 – 2009.
Theresa is an accomplished singer-songwriter and owns two businesses, Songs From Your Soul (personalized song-writing) and Jingle Gems (commercial song-writing).
