The October 11 National Coming Out Day Service was an amazing success! With 170 people in attendance we nearly packed out St. John’s United Church of Christ (a co-sponsor of the event along with GIFT and the “Gay Christian? Yes!” Campaign).
The service included moving stories (including one by new GIFT board member Laura Busman), rousing music by the West Michigan Gay Men’s Chorus and the Plymouth United Church of Christ Chorus, and an inspiring message by Rev. Dr. Randall Jelks.
The Grand Rapids Press and Fox 17 News had reporters there.
